The brief for this barn renovation project in the vineyards near Bordeaux, SW France was to inject elegance and character into the rustic stone property which was lacking in any real charm. The aim was to ensure that each guest room and communal area was both inviting and welcoming in the heat of the summer and the cool of the winter. Each room was created with its own unique identity, some with pretty patterned wallpapers or calming colour palettes, exposed stone walls or limestone flooring and the complex and stunning wooden ceiling in the guest room situated in the ’tower’ of the building. With gorgeous, well-dressed French style beds, Antique furniture, inviting seating areas and interesting accessories, this award-winning boutique guesthouse was designed to be a real home from home.
